Provide an Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting [HLTAID004]
This first aid course covers the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children and adults.
It is designed for educations and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies.
This unit of competency contributes towards approved first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis training under the Education and Care Services National Law and the education and Care Services National Regulation 2011.
This unit of competency has been approved by ACECQA and meets the requirements of 'First Aid, Asthma & Anaphylaxis' [http://www.acecqa.gov.au]
This nationally recognised training is delivered in partnership with, and under the auspices of, Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO 90909
$150 flexible mode [1-day plus pre-course study]
$150 refresher training
There are no pre-requisites for this course.
Flexible mode initial training: 7 hours of face to face training plus pre-course study
Face to face initial training: 12 hours face to face over 2 consecutive days
Refresher training: 7 hours of face to face training

Students who successfully complete the training will be awarded the statement of attainment for:
- HLTAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting
- HLTAID003 Provide first aid
- HLTAID001 Provide CPR
Recertification every three years is a requirement for child care workers.
